About LA Vote:
LA County Registrar-Recorder’s Flex and Mobile Voting Program serves as an extension of a traditional Vote Center, providing the same experiences, but with one major difference – taking voting to the voters. This community-based program relies on partners throughout the county to facilitate and serve as a voting location for a single day in the voting period. Providing unique voting opportunities to voters who may need it the most.
About the Films:
SELMA (2014) | A chronicle of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.’s campaign to secure equal voting rights via an epic march from Selma to Montgomery, Alabama, in 1965.
13TH (2016) | In this thought-provoking documentary, scholars, activists and politicians analyze the criminalization of African Americans and the U.S. prison boom.
ORIGIN (2023) | Inspired by Pulitzer Prize winning journalist Isabel Wilkerson’s New York Times best-seller “Caste,” ORIGIN explores the mystery of history, the wonders of romance and a fight for the future of us all.
