LEAP IN 5 YEARS: ARTIST ROUNDTABLE REFLECTION
TUNE IN! VIRTUAL CONVERSATION ON JUNE 6 @ 12PM PST / 3PM EST
Check out the LEAP: Meet Our Artists video above! Click PLAY on JUNE 6 to watch the conversation!
Join ARRAY as we gather all nine of the LEAP commissioned artists for the first time during a virtual conversation to commemorate the initiative’s 5-year anniversary. Moderated by LEAP curator Mercedes Cooper, we’ll reflect on each artists’ process and discuss art as a catalyst for change.
LEAP is the Law Enforcement Accountability Project, a propulsive fund dedicated to empowering activists as they pursue narrative change around the police abuse of Black People. Founded in 2020 by Ava DuVernay’s ARRAY in response to the killing of George Floyd, LEAP’s mission is to disrupt the code of silence that exists around police brutality and elevate activist storytelling through projects in film, photography, fine art, music, poetry, culinary arts and dance. The fund was powered by hundreds of advocates who believe in police transparency and visibility. Our work continues.
